1. Elderly Women in the Middle East

The aim of this project is to collect information about the current situation of elderly woman in the Middle East. The paper will account for the particular features of demographic aging in the Middle East comparing women to men. The socio?cultural and health characteristics are presented next for women only. Any member of MENAR interested in contributing to the study they are welcome to submit their contribution to the coordinator or the secretariat of the Group.

2. Elder Abuse in the Middle East

The aging of populations in the Middle East carries with it a hidden problem: elder abuse. A large segment of our population will be both dependent and frail. Elder Abuse is an area which is totally ignored in our area. The aim of this project is to study elder abuse in the area. The project will include the following literature Review , discussion of Policy and Legislation on Elder Abuse. It will discuss current Government concern, community and NGO involvement. It will discuss as well available resources and possible preventive strategies.
